The pH level of the water should be kept between 6.8 and 7.8, which closely resembles their natural habitat in the Amazon Basin. Additionally, water hardness should be maintained between 3 to 8 dKH. Stable water conditions help prevent stress and diseases, ensuring that your angelfish remain healthy and vibrant.

In addition to temperature and pH, it’s crucial to regularly monitor ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels in the tank. Ammonia and nitrite levels should always be at zero, as even small amounts can be toxic to angelfish. Nitrate levels should be kept below 20 ppm, which can be managed through regular water changes and proper filtration. It’s recommended to change 25% of the tank water weekly to keep these levels in check and to remove any accumulated waste.
